A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.

Big truble in little Red Rose Caffe #1&2

After the long cool-down in our party, after we did some small jobs to keep our position in the Red rose caffe a high paladin from the order of light viisted us.

The task as easy as it sounded, to catch and deal with her misbehaving necromancer son lead us to the hideout of the forward point base of the cult of his in the caves.

. . .

After a few days of travelling we happened to find them.
Shots have been fired and we found ourselves to fight for our lives.
3 acolites have been shot dead, or so we thought.

After we looked around the area for more troublemakers (like the one shadow creature, that tryed to steal our war-priests bag of holding) we found the smugglers den. we took care of that too.

the journey back was uneventfull, well I say that. The bombs are super effective against armoured creatures like crabs. so we got some crab meat.

. . .

We reported back to the high ranked paladin and got sent to another city after we collected our reward.

We took the main road to the city, we needed to be at. (names change and may warry through the ages, so I see it pointless to note them down), life goes on even without our involvement and there are bad things on this world already, that will remain there…

We got into the city. apparently got followed as we tryed to make our way into the temple of the related temple to the paladin, so we could forward the messages of the necromantic activities of the cult.

we got captured and imprisoned. tryed to escape and blew up the door, that was holding us.

the tengu friend is an interesting one, not a bird-brain, but still funny.

Of course we escaped without any problems and combat interaction from our guards, but we told them that one of their followers is practicing necromancery. we got accused, that we killed them and were threattened to be imprisoned, but as I said, we made it out just fine, easy job. easy money. good karma. good life.

We might be able to finish the job in no time…

Bird person is still funny, the fox lady is clever, changeling is usefull and the fighter has a fitting fighting spirit. I just do not want to blow our cower, so I should keep the explosives to minimum, while we are in the city…

Dear Journal - I don't think we can trust them.

Dear Journal,

Today my companions and I disposed of a minor unliving one. And destroyed an evil scroll denying resources to those who would use false life for petty power struggles! :D
We went into some caves where I learned that my new friends don’t know how to walk quietly. You’d think they’d strapped pots and pans to themselves should you hear them. The skeleton was in a box. A trap of sorts. Like the flame that hit me. Where can we find a good rogue? Anyway, they kept wanting to talk to it! >:-( And save it! It’s dead!! There’s nothing to save! At least they got the hint when I smashed it in.
This is why I don’t think we can trust them. I thought that this was an evil offshoot of Cal Zuton’s club that Caspian was running. So we disposed of them as is right. And then I gave Zuton’s instruments back to what I thought was the true faithful but they weren’t happy. They didn’t try to distance themselves at all from the skeleton in a box! ><(((*> So they must be evil too. :( I shall have to dismantle their religion. I shall expose their evil to the authorities and show them the ways of the true god of law. Perhaps Dave can be saved. It would be a shame if I had to dispose of him too. :(
Our leads are limited. We have Caspian’s map marked with Xs (not treasure apparently). Unfortunately we don’t know whether the x are important or unimportant, like crossed out. Is he going there or has he been there? Are these “food-producing-cities” to be ignored or attacked? We are left with questions. I suppose we are going to have to check them out one at a time. Annoying. I’ll be leaving my brothers and sisters for a long time if I do that.

Oh well. Onward we go. <3><3><3

Dungeonering 101

entry #3

we received a hot tip from our second favourite paladin from the temple of Iondaine.

We followed the path to a cave like complex, where after deciding who goes first, we … of course.. got trapped.

A magical barrier appeared behind us which I tryied to dispell couple of times.

The whole area was trapped, and we fell for most of them, by accident, or by strong resolution and belief in our skills to avoid them.

The idea of enslaving a skeleton in a box, to become our familiar / support carrier was denied. I am sad for that, but I understand the concerns of the party [we are trying to deal with Necromancers, after all] but those who look long enough to the abyss realise, that the abyss is gazing back into them… I hope the godess will guide us away from the dark paths and give us the power to fight united.


The caves were clensed from all evildoers.

Their Boss (I think) blew himself up in a most spetacular way. This was done by owerestimating his own abilities in his school of magic… I used to keep telling this to the more magically aligned folks in my homeland, but they newer listened to me. Gunpowder is true magic. And Explosion is an Art…

We have returned to the city of Amsterdam with some artefacts to be sold and desposed of and after a briefing on new mission progress we will depart soon. Probably to Germany where Caspian was seen last…

Hatching day 6324

And so we set of to the caves from Amsterdam, maybe we will finally find Caspian. It was an uneventful walk which left me wondering… Why did we accept this quest in the first place…. Ou well I guess accepting a request from someone we did not even ask a name from sounds like a good idea.

A there is a cave.

Get off the horse and in to the cave we go. I need to get a mount that will go in to the caves… A thought for the future… Two paths lie before us.

We see a ransacked storage to our right and a path forward. Time to see whether anything is left. Nope nothing here. Except this secret passage and some cultists who are trying to stop us.

We proceeded further in to the caves and found the leader. I challenged him of course… What a peculiar man he boasted about his power and then just blew himself up…. Disappointing. After a quick search through the burned maps and documents we found plans that told us of the next destination… This man seems like he is running from something.

Well back we go to the city we will need to report what we found to Elisa in the Temple of Ionday.

P.S. – The Cal Zuton guys are not as bad as they seem. I will catch up with them when i get back again

We went home.

I went to see the family. They are doing well, well, relatively well. Considering how I found them I mean.

Donnu had hurt herself again. She’d been thieving again and got caught by the merchants trap. We had a good talk about why thieving was wrong and how you can get what you want entirely legally before I healed her. Rules are vital for a community and theft is only acceptable for aristocrats and such. We shouldn’t be stealing from each other; we should work together to overthrow the oppressors! Although I do know that merchant and he is a dick.
Omle and Trudsal are doing find now. The baby lives and I put some gold into buying some land and building some shacks so they have some shelter for the moment. I hope that next time I can get some wood and get a proper building built. We talked about life and religion and how that people are quick to label something evil if they don’t agree with it but generally someone else will think that they are evil in turn, so it really doesn’t mean much.
Thinking about that, there was another one of Caspian’s thugs in our room yesterday. He vanished before I could smite him because I was stuck healing people. Our hoitey-toitey angel felt smiting was more important than keeping people alive. Really! :( And she thinks she’s “good”. Meaningless. We don’t smite them because they’re evil, we smite them because I hate skellys. And someone is paying us to. I wonder how my application is coming on…

A "Guest" awaits us...

We returned from our separate escapades to find someone waiting for us at the cafe. While we tried to catch each other up on our happenings, all went quiet as we entered the back. A representative of Zon-Kuthon and his supposed Church. He wanted us to leave them alone. By Sarenrae, I wasn’t going to agree to that- especially as he tried to offer material things as bribes!

And then one of my colleagues challenged the denizen to a duel. A foolish act.

And then everything went terribly wrong for us.

I do not know how he was able to consistently evade our blows- even those with Sarenrae’s favoured scimitar. We had not the prepared magics to be able to strike at his clearly evil essence. We were clearly outclassed. And then, when we were struggling most, he decides to pull out a scroll and disappear from our sight.

I will not make the mistake of being wrongly prepared again. Evil stands in our path, and I cannot let that remain so. Lux aeterna.

The Spirit world calls again, NOW WITH A BANG!

Uppon returning to Red Rose CafĂ©, the first thing in the morning (apart from drinking my booze) we had a missed call. A guy. In our lounge… he was there for a long time… One of Karl-Zuthon followers…

I think we need to hire guards… or just someone who will run a background check on all of our customer… something like an informant. Oh well.

Gunpowder Justice will be served, but not this time. The ancestors were close to us again, all sorts of spirits were visible… at least we have the power of gunpowder and healing potions to keep us going.

Also as well as we might have thought, smaller (in size of height) does not mean more aerodinamic… gnomes or goblins do not fly… (I will have to prepare a potion and make them drink it…)

There is science need to be done, so I will make a neat gun for the times I am still alive…. and ocassional reincarnation after the boom. I think my memories are coming back from that last explosion. one day I will be a Grenadier

Hatching day 6327

After finishing with our business in Amsterdam We decided to go and meet up with our friends in the Red Rose Cafe before setting off for Berlin.

Upon arrival we had a man from Cal Zuton waiting for us in the back room. Apparently he was in there for over three days with no food, water or sleep. What a weird fellow. When we spoke he tried to bribe us not to go after Caspian but we refused. it is at that moment he revealed his true identity as the follower of Caspian and channelled all of us to a duel and then run away with the words “You’ll see me again. I’ll reme…” and then he desperadoes.

So there we were left standing in the room wondering what was all of that about. O well i guess once we find Caspian we can ask him.
